Internet

Tasmania’s major cities are all equipped with high speed broadband equal to any service available in the rest of Australia, but it may be slower or more expensive than what you are used to in your country. Australian internet services are currently undergoing a major national upgrade.

In the meantime, existing services often have data limits. Households will pay monthly fees for predetermined amounts of data at various speeds, or you can choose a ‘pay as you go’ service. Wireless internet is also widely available in Tasmanian cities. There are plenty of local and national internet service providers to choose from and all educational institutions provide access to the internet.

You can browse through Australia’s broadband services at this website.
